Judy
and I have a couple of pointers at Phantom Kennels and we
have been not only pleased but amazed at how well they’ve
turned out.
Dan was very helpful when I spoke with him on the
phone and went into even greater detail when we brought
our girls to him at Phantom Kennels.
He explained how he trains and treats each dog as
an individual.
Each dog is trained using methods and a pace that
is specific to their talents and needs.
This worked out well since our girls were polar opposites.
To watch them now is a complete joy.
They are very responsive to commands and their natural
instincts have been nurtured to a point that they look like
they are very happy doing what they were bred to do. Recently, Dan held one of his seminars to help
people that are training their own dogs.
Judy and I decided to attend so we could learn how
to handle our dogs when they are done with his training,
since we are novices at handling bird dogs. It was very
informative and each dog that was handled that day made
improvement right before our eyes.
Each attendee had the opportunity to handle their
own or one of Dan’s green dogs.
Judy and I took a very stubborn, older untrained
dog and in five minutes had him locking up to “whoa” without
any harsh treatment, just praise and repetition using Dan’s
techniques. Dan also covered a great deal of safety related
topics such as snakebites and the use of tracking devices
to recover a lost dog.
Judy and I actually won a Wildlife Materials
tracking system while we were there!
We
are more than pleased with the work that Dan and Glenda
have done to help us with our dogs and would highly recommend
them to anyone wanting to have world class training by someone
who cares about their client’s dogs as if they were their
own.
